Once again devianting (*sigh* okay, I admit the pun's getting lame) from the figure work I've been doing, I wanted to do a piece that focused more on the face. It's been a while since I've done something like this and found it to be an interesting challenge. I'd been thinking about doing a piece with "dead eyes", either from cataracts, death or the like, for a while now. Old people are not just fun to eat, they're also fun to draw! heh... moving on.. and I renamed this to include Dahlia's namesake, because she reminds me of Dahlia from SH1 a little.

NOTE: I had a work in progress version of this in the scraps section, and was going to update it with the final version and move it here to the gallery, but since people found it and seemed to like it, I guess I'll keep it for you to compare if you'd like. Either way, I hope you all still enjoy this one too!

NOTE #2: I showed this to my best friend, and she instantly turned away from it. I, being of a man of bloated self esteem, thought she did because it sucked. Well I'll leave whether or not it sucked to you, but the reason she turned away was apparently the painting really frightened her... Now I like to think it looks creepy, but I don't really see that it's "frightening". So... if anyone else sees it as scary, let me know why. She said she couldn't put her finger on it... I've just been curious. Thanks!
